The biggest fear people have about changing their editing software is not being able to go back and access all that work they have already put into the file. We're hanging onto the possibility of going back to our old edits, instead of looking forward to new possibilities. Reminder that my discount code for DxO PhotoLab is "EWENBELL15". If you're going to purchase some DxO products feel free to use this code and save yourself some money. I get a little commission as well, which helps keep my YouTube channel running. And here's a link to my video on how I do my editing, a very simple and easy to follow guide to create the gentle style that you see in my photos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R_UKlPnZ2M 00:00 Intro 00:53 Goodbye To Subscriptions 03:09 Looking Back 06:09 DxO PhotoLab 07:34 That Janky Cable 09:27 Never Read The Comments 10:37 Use It Or Lose It 13:09 That's All Folks My Zine https://ewenbell.com/zine, My Newsletter https://ewenbell.com/subscribe, #PhotoEditing #Subscriptions #Photography #EwenTube

@ada@blahaj.zone Good to hear another vote for Dark Table 😃 I have often used the DNG converter in the past, but often find the dynamic range is limited in these files compared to native RAW. Dark Table does a good job of supporting different cameras though 😃

@ewenbell@makertube.net I moved away from Adobe when I moved to Linux and none of my Adobe stuff would work anymore. The only adobe app I use now is the Adobe DNG converter, because I can use it to produce DNGs that are more compatible with the FOSS software I use.

I wasn’t explicitly planning on moving away from Adobe, but I was dead set on moving away from Windows/Apple, and it turns out that those are effectively the same thing! And now, I’ve worked out how to use Darktable, and I wouldn’t go back to Adobe if I could!
